Blocking Users

You can block a user to control how you interact with other accounts on Lanterns.app. This feature helps you to restrict specific accounts from following you, and make it more difficult for you to encounter their content.

Details about blocking

• Accounts you have blocked cannot follow you, and you cannot follow an account you have blocked.
• If you block an account you're following, you will immediately unfollow that account. If they're following you, they will immediately unfollow you.
• If you decide to unblock the account, you will have to follow the account again if you would like to - unblocking doesn't reinstate the relationship.
• If you have a public List, blocked accounts can still see your lanterns within that List.
• Blocked accounts do not receive a notification to alert them that their account has been blocked.
• If a blocked account visits the profile of an account that has blocked them, they will see they have been blocked as they will not be able to follow it.

How do I know if I have blocked someone?

If you visit the profile of a blocked account, the Follow button will have been replaced by a Blocked button.

The Lists of an account you have blocked are hidden when you visit their profile. However, you can see the Lists from that account by clicking the "Show" button.

How do I unblock an acccount?

Visit the blocked account's profile, and click the Blocked button.
